How we approach it: Audit what actually needs storing, run fitted joinery floor to ceiling along the longest wall, and take the clutter out of the room rather than rearranging it.
The problem: A brand-new unit handed over with bare walls, a tenant due, and lift restrictions on delivery. How we approach it: Survey immediately, build to the lift and corridor constraints, and install before the furniture arrives — which is by far the cheapest moment to do it.

A bedroom has one job, and most of the ones we are called to see are quietly failing at it. We start with the bed: where it can sit so nobody walks into a corner at night, whether the AC is blowing straight down onto a pillow, how the door swings against the wardrobe. Then the storage, the lighting circuits and the finishes. You see it in 3D before anything is committed.
Flooring, ceilings, walls, wardrobes, lighting and doors taken as one scope rather than four separate visits by four separate trades. Old built-ins removed, walls made good, a new ceiling with proper cove and downlight positions, engineered timber or porcelain flooring laid, skirting and architrave replaced, then the joinery installed against finished surfaces.
The biggest single line in most bedroom projects, and the one worth getting right. Ours are made in Al Quoz and scribed to your walls, so they run floor to ceiling with no dust shelf on top and no filler panel pretending to be a design decision. Hinged or sliding, lacquer, veneer, matt laminate or glass fronts, and mechanisms specified from the German and Austrian makers — Blum, Hettich and Häfele among them — rather than an unbranded equivalent.
Where the room or the adjoining space allows it, a walk-in changes the bedroom completely — the clutter leaves and the bedroom becomes a bedroom again. We plan hanging heights against what you actually own, add island drawer units where the width supports one, and light the interiors properly with LED profiles rather than a single ceiling fitting that shadows everything.
A full-width upholstered headboard wall is the fastest way to make a bedroom feel designed rather than furnished. We build them in-house — fabric or leather, channelled, fluted or flat, with integrated side tables, reading lights, sockets and USB points built in at the right height instead of trailing across the floor.
Fluted timber, veneer, moulded classic panels, fabric-wrapped acoustic panels, decorative plaster. Panelling does two things in a bedroom: it gives the room a focal wall, and where the specification is right it takes some of the hard edge out of the acoustics. Painted, veneered or lacquered in our workshop and installed as sheets rather than assembled on site.
Overhead downlights alone make a bedroom feel like a corridor. We layer it: cove or perimeter light for ambience, reading lights at the headboard, wardrobe interiors that switch on when the door opens, and a dimmed circuit for the middle of the night. Two-way switching at the door and at the bed is a small thing that people notice every single day.
Engineered timber where warmth matters, large-format porcelain where practicality wins, and carpet in the rooms that genuinely suit it. Skirting and architrave are replaced with the flooring rather than left as a mismatched leftover, and internal doors, ironmongery and door frames are usually worth changing at the same time — half-renovated rooms are always given away by the door.
This is Dubai — a bedroom that does not black out properly is a bedroom you wake up in at 5.40am for most of the year. We build recessed curtain pelmets into the ceiling during the works so no track is visible, then fit blackout linings, sheers and motorised blinds where a window is awkward to reach or the wall gets full afternoon sun.
Three complaints come up in nearly every bedroom brief: the AC blows straight onto the bed, there is one socket in the wrong place, and you can hear the corridor. We relocate or baffle diffusers where the duct allows, add sockets, USB and data at bed height, and improve the door and partition detail where noise from a lift lobby or a shared wall is the real problem.
Children’s rooms need storage that survives being climbed on and a layout that can change when they turn eleven. Guest rooms need to work hard for two weeks a year and disappear the rest of the time — usually a sofa bed, a compact wardrobe and a desk. Maid’s rooms deserve proper joinery and proper light too, and it costs very little to do them properly while the team is already on site.
Bedrooms get split up more often than any other room. A designer draws it, a furniture company quotes the wardrobes, an electrician is called separately for the lighting, and a curtain shop turns up last to screw a track onto a freshly-painted wall. The result rarely looks like the render, and the reason is almost never the design.

How much continuous wall you have decides the wardrobe. A run broken by a door swing or a window loses more capacity than the dimensions suggest.
Diffuser position over the bed is the most common comfort complaint we hear. Whether it can move depends on the duct route above the ceiling.

Here is the honest shape of it. Bedroom projects in Dubai generally fall within the ranges below — indicative market figures to help you plan, not a quotation. Almost all of the variation sits in the joinery.
Metres of wardrobe and the front finish do most of the work. After that it is the internal fitting-out — racks, drawers, LED shelving, glass — which routinely surprises people by adding as much again as the carcass it sits inside.
So treat the ranges above as a starting point. After the site visit you get an itemised proposal against a defined scope, priced per linear metre with the finish and hardware named, which is what makes it genuinely comparable.
Wardrobes are priced per linear metre before anything else. A four-metre run and a seven-metre run are different projects, not different sizes.
Melamine, vinyl-wrap, lacquer and natural veneer sit at very different points, and sliding systems cost more than hinged doors.
Pull-out trouser racks, jewellery drawers, LED shelving, glass fronts and accessory organisers add up faster than most people expect.
A full-width upholstered wall in a good fabric is a significant line. Flat panels cost less than channelled or fluted detail.
New cove detail, additional circuits, two-way switching and diffuser relocation all mean opening ceilings and chasing walls.
Lift bookings, restricted hours and how large a panel can physically get into the room all affect how the work is resourced.
Six to nine weeks from signed quotation for a full bedroom, and four to six for wardrobes on their own. The phases below are what we plan against. Manufacture runs in parallel with the site works, so the room itself is usually unusable for two to three weeks rather than the whole programme.
Phases overlap. Wardrobes are being built in Al Quoz while the ceiling, electrics and flooring happen at your property — adding the ranges together does not give you the project duration.
You are letting a team work in the most private room in the house. These are the commitments that sit around the work itself.
Nothing is cut until the scope and the itemised quotation are signed. Changes after that are priced and approved in writing, because a wardrobe already built to the old drawing is an expensive way to change your mind.
Design and manufacture, site works, then installation and completion. Each release is against work you can see, so you are never paying substantially ahead of progress.
A named project manager coordinates the site crew, the workshop, the electricians and the curtain fitters, books the lift, and is the number you call.
Halo submits as a licensed contractor with the documentation towers and community offices expect, so access is usually granted first time.
Floor protection, dust screening, a defined material route and a daily clean-down. Bedroom work should not leave a trail through the living room.

A floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobe holds far more than a freestanding one of the same width, and it takes the visual noise out of the room at the same time. Most bedrooms are not too small; they are badly stored.

As an indicative market range, replacing the wardrobes alone typically runs AED 12,000 to AED 35,000 depending on the length of the run and the finish. A full bedroom fit-out — ceiling, lighting, flooring, panelling, joinery and curtains — generally falls between AED 45,000 and AED 90,000, and a master suite with a dressing room usually sits between AED 90,000 and AED 180,000. Larger and more heavily specified suites go above that. Those are planning figures, not a quotation. The real number depends on the metres of wardrobe, the front finish, how much panelling and lighting work is involved, and whether the ceiling and electrics are being changed.
As a market guide, fitted wardrobes in Dubai run roughly AED 800 to AED 3,500 per linear metre. Melamine and vinyl-wrapped MDF sit at the lower end, lacquer in the middle, and natural veneer at the top. Sliding doors cost more than hinged. Internal fitting-out is what moves the number most: pull-out racks, jewellery drawers, LED shelving and glass fronts can add as much again as the carcass. Six to nine weeks from signed quotation is typical. Manufacture in our workshop takes three to five weeks and overlaps with the site works, so the room itself is normally out of use for two to three weeks. Wardrobes on their own, where no ceiling or electrical work is needed, can be quicker — often four to six weeks from order, with only a couple of days of installation. We give you dates once the room has been surveyed.

A dressing room designed to a render rather than to a wardrobe audit tends to be full within a month.
Usually. It is one of the most common complaints in Dubai apartments, and it is rarely as difficult to solve as people assume. Depending on the duct route above the ceiling, we can relocate the diffuser, change it for a type that throws the air differently, or add a baffle to redirect it. Where the duct genuinely cannot move, planning the bed position around the airflow is the honest alternative — and we would rather say that at the survey than after the ceiling is closed.

Doing several rooms at once is usually cheaper per room because mobilisation and deliveries are shared, but there is no minimum.

German and Austrian systems — Blum, Hettich and Häfele are the ones we specify most — and whichever is quoted is named on your proposal rather than described as "premium". Soft-close hinges and drawer runners as standard, with lift systems, pull-out rails, trouser racks and internal dividers specified per unit. Hardware is what you touch every morning and it is the first thing to fail on a cheap wardrobe, so it is the wrong place to save money and a good place to over-specify.
