Measured Surface and Detail
A wall with niches, corners and reveals takes different work from an open floor of the same area. Small areas can still require several installation visits.

Microcement floors, walls and bathrooms for Dubai homes and commercial interiors. Start with the existing surface, approve the colour and texture, and agree the preparation, coating system and handover conditions before installation.
Microcement is a thin, hand-applied decorative coating that creates a continuous mineral finish on suitable floors, walls and formed surfaces. Halo plans the finish around the base beneath it: soundness, moisture, existing joints, floor levels and how the room will be used. It can cover stable existing tiles in suitable conditions, but it cannot correct a moving floor or replace the waterproofing design of a shower. The proposed system and site assessment determine suitability.
Discuss Your ProjectA wall with niches, corners and reveals takes different work from an open floor of the same area. Small areas can still require several installation visits.
Tile removal, bonding repairs, moisture treatment, levelling and waterproofing can change the project total more than the chosen shade.
The proposed primer, reinforcement where specified, coating layers, sealer and intended use determine the material and application scope.
Occupied rooms, lift bookings, protection, restricted working hours and separate work phases affect labour and programme.

The scope behind a documented Halo interior.
Documented Halo apartment project
This documented apartment bathroom combines a formed microcement double vanity with metallic basins, bespoke mirrors and layered lighting. The vanity shows how a continuous finish can follow rounded geometry and integrate with the rest of a bathroom renovation.
Choose the surface and the level of use first. A bedroom floor, shower wall and kitchen worktop need different preparation and protection even when they share the same colour.

Continuous finishes for living rooms, bedrooms, reception areas and selected commercial interiors. We review substrate stability, thresholds, skirting and the expected foot traffic before agreeing the build-up.

Feature walls and full-room finishes with hand-trowelled variation. Corners, socket edges, lighting and transitions to joinery are detailed so the sample translates into a finished room.

Bathrooms need a compatible wet-area specification, with waterproofing, falls, drain connections and penetrations resolved before the decorative finish. The coating alone is not a universal waterproofing solution.

A coating can wrap shaped vanities, splashbacks and selected work surfaces when the substrate and product system allow it. Heat, oils, standing water and cleaning products must be considered when choosing a kitchen finish.

For cafés, salons, showrooms and offices, the specification follows cleaning frequency, chair castors, footfall and access. Reception desks and display surfaces can also be reviewed as formed applications. Equipment zones and heavy-impact uses may need a different finish or protective treatment.

See the proposed tone and texture on a physical sample before committing to the whole area. Hand application creates natural variation; lighting, sealer sheen and the scale of the finished surface affect its appearance.
The best finish starts with a suitable base. These checks also make two microcement quotations easier to compare.
Sometimes. Tiles must be securely bonded, clean and suitable for the proposed system. Hollow tiles, active cracks and unstable grout joints need attention before an overlay is considered.
Agree tile checks, preparation, joint treatment and the final floor level.
Microcement is a thin decorative coating. Polished concrete is a different floor construction and finishing process. Similar-looking photographs do not mean the two have the same thickness, installation or structural requirements.
Ask for the actual product system and complete build-up, not just a colour name.
The finish can reduce visible grout lines, but the substrate still moves. Existing movement joints and transitions need a system-specific detail; covering them indiscriminately increases the risk of cracking.
Record which joints remain and how changes of substrate are treated.
Not every microcement product is suitable for showers, exterior exposure or standing water. Surface texture, sealing and the complete waterproofing detail must suit the actual location.
Confirm written manufacturer suitability for the intended exposure.
Send room photos, approximate floor and wall areas, your Dubai location and the desired finish.
Review bonding, cracks, moisture, levels, joints and wet-area interfaces at the site.
Agree a physical colour, texture and sheen sample together with the specified coating system.
Protect adjacent finishes and complete the agreed repairs, levelling, priming and joint details.
Apply the specified layers with the required drying intervals, then the compatible protective finish.
Check the finish and provide the permitted-use dates, care instructions and agreed aftercare terms.
A microcement price per m² is useful only when it describes the same scope. Measure floors, walls, returns and formed details separately. Halo confirms pricing after reviewing the area, substrate and finish specification; there is no single rate that fits every bathroom or floor.
The programme includes preparation, any waterproofing work, application, drying between layers, sealing and the release period before furniture, washing or shower use. Dry-to-touch is not the same as ready for full use. Halo confirms these milestones for the specified product and site conditions rather than promising a universal installation duration.
Agree what gets checked during installation and what you need to maintain after handover.
Use the approved neutral cleaner and avoid abrasive pads or aggressive descalers unless the system supplier expressly permits them.
Use furniture protection, lift heavy items and protect equipment zones. A decorative coating is not immune to scratches, impacts or substrate movement.
Ask when the surface should be inspected or resealed and how local repairs may differ in tone from the original hand-applied finish.
Share your villa community, apartment building or commercial premises. Halo reviews projects across Dubai, including Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills Estate, Arabian Ranches, Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai and Business Bay. Access, approvals and the installation method depend on the property and scope.
Confirm the exact building, permitted work hours, loading route, service-lift access and whether the property stays occupied.
Identify applicable landlord or community permissions before work. Changes to a façade, building services or wet areas need a project-specific review.
Connect the specialist installation with the wider renovation, adjacent finishes and handover date. Agree any design, procurement or approval work in the proposal.
Practical answers before you select a specification or request a quotation.
Microcement flooring is a thin decorative coating applied in layers over a suitable base and protected with a compatible finish. It gives a continuous mineral appearance, while its performance depends on the substrate, product system, installation and care.
The cost depends on measured surfaces, base condition, repairs, wet-area work, finish, detail and access. Share photos and approximate areas for an initial review; the installation price should follow a defined specification and site assessment.
It may be possible over securely bonded, stable tiles after suitable preparation. Hollow tiles, active movement, moisture problems and floor-level conflicts must be resolved first. An overlay is confirmed after assessment rather than assumed from photographs.
Bathroom suitability depends on the complete specified wet-area system, including waterproofing, drains, penetrations and protective finish. Do not treat every decorative microcement coating as waterproof or suitable for showers and permanent immersion.
It can. Substrate movement, unsuitable preparation, impact and abrasive use can damage the finish. Correct detailing and care reduce risk, but a seamless appearance is not a guarantee against movement cracks or scratches.
Duration depends on area, preparation, product layers and drying conditions. The programme should state separate dates for light access, furniture placement, cleaning and wet use; these can be later than the final application day.
Yes. Agree a physical sample for the proposed colour, texture and sheen before application. Expect natural hand-applied variation, and view the sample in the lighting of the room where possible.
Halo can review occupied-property projects and agree protection, working areas, access and room downtime. Building rules, deliveries, dust-producing preparation and curing restrictions are confirmed before the programme is agreed.
